Accountability

We ensure accountability and transparency in every aspect of our business. We’re committed to efficiency, effectiveness and best practice corporate governance.

We’re transparent

Every year, Plan International Australia is audited by PriceWaterhouseCoopers to ensure accuracy and consistency in our financial reporting.

We are on a journey to advance and embed the principles of Diversity, Equity and Inclusion (DEI) across all areas of our business and to create enduring and widespread cultural change through our Reconciliation Action Plan, Gender Pay Gap report and DEI strategy.

We’re a member of the Australian Council for International Development (ACFID)

ACFID is the peak council for Australian aid and development organisations. We adhere to its code of conduct, which demands high standards of corporate governance, public accountability and financial management. View the Constitution of Plan International Australia (PDF 250KB).

Child protection is our number one priority

We take seriously our responsibility to safeguard all people from harm.

We work to both prevent harm as well as respond immediately and effectively to any concern. Safeguarding is everyone’s responsibility and an everyday part of our work.

We care about the environment

At Plan International Australia we recognise our activities have an impact on the environment and are committed to becoming an environmentally proactive organisation. We will achieve this by setting targets for reducing the environmental impact of our programs, operations, and office, as well as supporting global climate action.

Our endeavours include:

  • Incorporating our commitment into our organisation strategy and annual key objectives
  • Annual monitoring of greenhouse gas emissions with the aim to achieve a 7% annual reduction in direct emissions, as a first step to climate neutrality
  • Transparent and annual reporting
  • Proactively selecting ethical investing for our financial portfolio.
